One of the few freelance pieces I have taken on over the past year was to interview Thes One for Dust and Grooves. D&G’s creator, Eilon Paz, specifically wanted me to talk about my…uh…history with People Under the Stairs, which I did in the interview’s intro. From there, we launch into a long convo about how Thes has spend many years finding local L.A. records and despite being friends with Thes for almost 20 years now, I still learned a slew of new things from him. I told Thes this years ago but if he had ever wanted to go into academia, he could have done a killer research project centered around tracking the movement of records via demographic dispersal in Southern California!
