DJ Day has a new album out, Land of 1000 Chances. It’s, amazingly, his first studio album; I had always thought he was on his 5th album at this point given how prolific he is. But this is a big deal for him, the culmination of a long creative journey that began years ago when he first started messing around with mixing tapes (literally, mixing between tape decks) back in the ’90s.
Day’s currently on tour in Europe but before he left, he taped this podcast with us and I also wrote up a Palm Springs-centric profile of him for my latest KCET ArtBound column.
