Lamont Dozier: Blue Sky and Silver Bird (ABC, 1974, Black Bach)
Soul album.
I don’t mean to shortchange Dozier as a singer but this instrumental cut off of his second solo album is a forceful reminder of his abilities as a producer/composer (as if any one really need to be reminded). This is hella random, but this song makes me think of what would happen if Isaac Hayes and Mason Williams got together for a track.
