Matthews Southern Comfort: Sylvie (Decca, 1971, Later That Same Year)
Truly, I know nothing about the band except for the fact that it was fronted by Ian Matthews after he left Fairport Convention (and again, I only know this because of a thing called “google”). What I do know? “Sylvie” is some sublime shit (and while not nearly as good, “And When She Smiles” is rather glorious folk pop).

Sooooo beautiful!
Thx
Lovely find! Keep up the great work my man.
I am really surprised, this song is more than good. It feels so positive and brings Joy while listening it. But frankly speaking, I am not aware of this band before, but now happy to know about them. I have checked that there are total 11 tracks from this album, just hoping that some of them will be good as this one.
Youtube views could be much better if it was released in this tech era.
Took me a few months, but I finally checked out the rest of this album. Wow, is it lovely. As good as any 70s country rock by the bands these guys obviously love (CSNY, Byrds, etc).
i was absolutely in love with southern comfort back in 74
would love to hear from them
