For episode 2 of our new podcast series, The Sidebar, I interview Brendan Irvine-Broque, my first “in-studio” guest. In the last couple of years, BIB (under the auspices of Cavern Discos) has risen the ranks of online record dealing and has shifted from selling his own records to becoming a consignment dealer, including for last week’s guest, Matthew Africa. The first half of our convo was around what seems to be the escalating price of rare records and the possibility of a “record bubble.” In the second half, we talk about Piecelock 70, the artist collective that Brendan helps run, alongside artists such as Thes One, Double K and DJ Delay.
