The Roots: Good Music (Remedy, 1993, Organix)

My first exposure to The Roots came with Do You Want More? but when the crew was blowing people’s minds back circa ’94, I remember Amoeba capitalizing quickly by ordering a slew of copies of their first album, Organix. You could hear how they had tightened up their style with DYWM but “Good Music” always stuck with me as an example of the sound they were beginning to perfect by the time Geffen signed them. (Plus, I’m a sucker for Rhodes).
